CAPTAIN KENJI

Captain Kenji Gima was born and raised in Tigard, Oregon. He graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Public Administration, along with a minor in Economics. 

After beginning his career as a financial advisor, Kenji made a bold and heartfelt transition in the early 2000s—pursuing his dream of working on the water as a boat salesman and navigating officer. His lifelong passion for the water ultimately shaped both his personal and professional journey. His dedication, integrity, and deep knowledge of boating quickly set him apart.

In 2025, Kenji retired from the Seattle Boat Company after 18 years of exceptional service. Over the course of two decades, he personally sold and delivered more than 1,717 boats and yachts, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Kenji’s love for exploration has taken him across an impressive range of waterways, including the West and East Coasts of the United States, the canals of England and the Netherlands, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Canada, the East Coast of Australia, and the southeastern Pacific waters of Vietnam.

His career reflects not only professional excellence but a genuine passion for the maritime world. He continues to extend his knowledge and experience to implement into transporting vessels safely.
